China Education Newspaper reported that the first "Belt and Road" international energy and power business decision-making simulation competition was held in Shanghai on July 13th. Nine teams from eight universities of six countries along the "Belt and Road" competed and showed the future wisdom in the field of energy and power.


The school of economics and management of Shanghai University of Electric Power and the Finnish simulation course provider- CESIM organization- jointly developed energy and power cases, supporting the implementation of 21 languages in the "Internet +" platform. During the 10-hour contest, nine teams in the final stage conducted four rounds of simulation competition. The form of "energy power system operation + energy and power case analysis" was adopted, and contestants acting as CEO’s made decisions on marketing, factory investment, efficient operation, energy reuse, financing and profit redistribution, etc., and participated in the simulated profit pursuit of electricity market and energy futures.


Finally, the "Winer" team from Shanghai University of Electric Power won the grand prize. "Red Spartans" from the Philippine Batangas State University, "Mora Captivators" from Sri Lanka University of Moratuwa, and the "Volt Vision" team composed of international students from Shanghai University of Electric Power obtained the first prize. "Dream" from Vietnam Electric Power University, "EarthWrriors" from Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology, "Menergy" from Thai Suranaree University of Technology, "Electric Energy for the future" from Thai Nakhon Phanom University, and "Merah_Putih" from Indonesian Singaperbangsa University of Karawang achieved the second prize.


Xu Kai, deputy secretary of the Party committee and vice-chancellor of Shanghai University of Electric Power, said that the "Belt and Road" international energy and power industry business simulation competition will be held once a year to promote students from countries along the "Belt and Road" to carry out large-scale, high-level and deep learning exchange and cooperation, create an open, tolerant, balanced and inclusive learning environment and collaboration framework, and let youth light "Belt and Road" to create a bright future together. (Reporter: Dong Shaoxiao; Correspondent: Wang Qi)
