What does it feel like to be the CEO of a power company with assets of RMB 2.5 billion? How to reasonably control coal, fuel, and environmental power generation? How to carry out effective sales, production, risk management, and financial appreciation. Facing these problems, Prudencio who is a grade five student at Philippine Batangas State University was eager to have a try with his "Red Spartans" team.
On July 13th, the first "Belt and Road" international energy and power business decision-making simulation competition was jointly held by Shanghai University of Electric Power, Finland CESIM(a globally famous platform providing simulation courses), and Shandong Lineng Electric Technology Co., Ltd. Nine teams from eight universities of six countries along the "Belt and Road" competed together to show the "future wisdom" of energy and power.
This activity is also a specific project and promotion platform for international exchange after the establishment of "Belt and Road energy and power university alliance" and "Belt and Road electric power production-teaching-research alliance", which has been actively responded and participated by various colleges and universities.
Some data show that from 2013 to 2018, Chinese power enterprises signed 494 contracts on electric power engineering with a total amount of US $ 91.2 billion in the countries participating in the "Belt and Road" initiative, which brings brightness and development opportunities to many countries and regions with power shortage. With the construction of "Belt and Road", the power construction demand of relevant countries will continue growing. At the same time, energy and power management talents are in shortage in the countries that joined this initiative.
It is reported that the first "Belt and Road energy and power university alliance" and "Belt and Road electric power production-teaching-research alliance" proposed by Shanghai University of Electric Power were established in Shanghai on October 26th, 2018. Alliances are committed to connecting the pearls of electricity universities, enterprises and research institutions from the countries along the "Belt and Road" to form a dazzling bond, and cultivating "light emissaries" for the construction of "Belt and Road".
After 10 hours of intense competition, the "Winer" team from Shanghai University of Electric Power finally won the grand prize; "Red Spartans" from the Philippine Batangas State University, "Mora Captivators" from Sri Lanka University of Moratuwa, and the "Volt Vision" team composed of international students from Shanghai University of Electric Power obtained the first prize; "Dream" from Vietnam Electric Power University, "EarthWrriors" from Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology, "Menergy" from Thai Suranaree University of Technology, "Electric Energy for the future" from Thai Nakhon Phanom University, and "Merah_Putih" from Indonesian Singaperbangsa University of Karawang achieved the second prize.
In the next ten days, more than 40 teachers and students from countries along the "Belt and Road" will participate in the summer camp arranged by Shanghai University of Electric Power. They will listen to lectures on electric energy, visit the offshore wind farm in the East China Sea and Shanghai Waigaoqiao No.3 power plant, carry out cultural exchanges, and experience unique summer in Shanghai.
